What are some of the ways you've helped clients in their journey so far?

This is a question I receive often!

For the past 5 years, I've helped survivors aging anywhere (so far) from 19 - 65 regain a grasp of themselves, their life, who they are, their safety, understanding of feelings, understanding of self, boundaries and how to hold them, and figure out what they want their life to be and look like once that *is* grasped... and then go on to help them achieve that life.

It's the most fulfilling and rewarding job I could have ever imagined myself getting the privilege to have, and it's been a lifetime in the making.

So far, I've helped clients:

> rediscover their creativity after living a life feeling like their talents were non-existent

> rid themselves of perpetual guilt from wanting to go no-contact

> grieve the life they thought they would have, and the parents they wished they could experience

> move out of their parents' incredibly unsafe home on the down-low, with support and guidance

> create and maintain boundaries to keep themselves safe & secure with their life in their own hands

> finally be able to emote, process emotions, and feel safe within their feelings

> regain access to childhood memories that they hadn't felt ready to remember (most times these are good memories that are ready to come back after survival mode slowly starts to dissipate)

> learn about the different nervous systems within us, what they mean, and how chronic trauma plays a role in our brain & nervous systems' development and C-PTSD symptoms and how to navigate them

> their unique survival skills they have developed within themselves ON THEIR OWN in order to cope that are now actually helpful in life, and how to utilize those in daily life

> reconnecting with their body, emotions, and thoughts, and giving themselves their needs

> removing guilt and shame surrounding caring about themselves over the needs of their parent(s)

> infusing LIFE back into their life, and figuring out what their purpose is within their own

> & SO, so much more that my heart bursts everyday I get to experience coaching survivors like you!

If you're curious about working together, or have any questions at all about how I can help you, what 1:1 coaching would look like with your life and your time availability, or if you have any questions about my journey before you're ready to jump in for yourself... head to the bottom of this page.

How did you get started on your journey of coaching?

In a nutshell...

I've grown up in abuse my whole life. I am riddled with C-PTSD, and I have and Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) score of a HARD 10.

Growing up, my safe space was school and my teachers. So, growing up that's precisely what I wanted to be, specifically for high school students. So, that's exactly what I set out to do and to be, only to realize that I ended up in a system where the system itself was kind of like a larger more corporate version of the way that I grew up... and that did NOT jive with me. Here's what REALLY got me to change my course in life from teaching high school both internationally & nationally, into coaching:

I was sitting across from someone who owned the school I was teaching at, at the time. A person who was responsible for these students' education and well-being, yet he couldn't understand why I cared so deeply about them all. He said, "They're just kids. Why do you care so much?" Those words hit me like a truck. Amongst a list of other instances, this one felt horrifyingly familiar.

It reminded me exactly of how I grew up - the way we were treated and manipulated. All this performance of care that was really just feeding someone else's agenda. That moment gave me a bird's eye view of how many systems in our society operate this way - including the family dynamics many of US grew up with.

I had become a teacher to be that safe person for others, to create the space where people felt they mattered - just like a lot of my teachers had done for me. For three years, I taught high school and truly loved it.

But the reason I got into teaching - to really help humans, to be there for them emotionally and support their growth as people - kept bumping up against rules, regulations, and red tape. Systems that seemed designed to prevent the very connections humans need the most.

I realized that where I was, wasn't a place where I could help people wholeheartedly, in the way I'd always wanted to my whole life. It was my lifelong goal to be that safe space for somebody, a space with another human who understands the hard shit in life and will sit with others in that shit. And I realized I needed to find another path to make that happen.

That's when I decided to switch gears.

I asked myself, "Ash, you want to help people who have gone through stuff like you, right? You want to provide a space for someone to feel believed in. You want to help people feel good about the decisions they make and create a life where they understand that what they went through is not their fault..."

And it was almost what felt like an immediate no-brainer:

coach adult children of narcissistic parents back to who they truly are, and were always meant to be.

From there, the rest is history and it's been the most absolute fulfilling thing I've ever had the privilege of experiencing.

I get to teach.

And I get to teach what I've always set out to teach.

& That's pretty friggen cool if you ask me.
